SUMMARY:Conducting a Compassionate Advance Directive Conversation
DESCRIPTION:November marks the observance of Hospice and Palliative Care Month\, and Ohio’s Hospice affiliates are actively engaged in offering education about hospice and palliative care to other clinicians who care for those facing life-limiting illnesses. Continuing education credits are available for nurses and social workers on a variety of topics being presented by Ohio’s Hospice staff members. \nThis session’s topic is called “Conducting a Compassionate Advance Directive Conversation\,” presented by Amy Mestemaker\, MD\, Medical Director\, Ohio’s Hospice. As a result of this conference\, the learner will be able to: \n\nIdentify strategies for initiating a discussion regarding advance directives\nCompare and contrast advance directive options available in Ohio\nDiscuss what will occur if no advance directives are in place\n\nWhere: Conference Room 1 & 2\, Upper Valley Medical Center Physician Office Building\, 3130 N.
