Scatter Kindness® on National Thoughtful Day
Thursday, Aug. 28 is National Thoughtful Day, a day created to inspire people to perform acts of kindness and bring goodwill in a variety of ways.

Put your stamp on the day – your own style of thoughtfulness. Then put it into practice. Maybe you’ll become the grandmother known for her sweet treats or the friend known for surprise coffees at work. There is no template for how to celebrate.
According to Barb Paton, creator of Thoughtful Pinch (a blog dedicated to thoughtfulness) and founder of National Thoughtful Day, “By being thoughtful, one size does not have to fit all. In fact, the more unique the celebration, the better!”
Here are some ideas to Scatter Kindness® on National Thoughtful Day:
- Mail cards to several people in your address book. A handwritten note could mean so much to someone since they are so rare these days.
- Be extra courteous to neighbors. Bring them fresh flowers to brighten their day and make a connection.
- Deliver small treats to friends and family. They won’t be turned away.
- Express appreciation to co-workers. Hop on Teams and send someone a quick message to see how they are doing.
- Do good for the things in life that help others. Donate to your favorite organization or give books to the free little libraries. Pick up trash from the local park or donate to the local soup kitchen.
There are countless other things you can do. It can be a small token or an inspirational word. Either way, your thoughtfulness makes others feel special.
