Thanking Our Teammates Who Help Build Our Teams

We are privileged to provide superior care and superior services to each patient and family.

Our world-class care is because of the great teammates we have in all of our care regions across the state. Our talent acquisition team spends countless hours digging through resumes, searching for candidates with that special something it takes to work in end-of-life care.

National Healthcare Recruiters Day 2026

On National Healthcare Recruiter Recognition Day, we send a heartfelt thank you to our talent acquisition partners in our Human Resources Department.

“Every team member has a story, and that story often begins with a recruiter,” said Annette Vickers, human resources director. “Recruiters are often the very first connection someone has with our organization, offering a welcoming introduction to our mission, values, and culture. Through their compassion, dedication, and ability to see potential in others, they help bring extraordinary people to Ohio’s Hospice. They do far more than fill positions — they build relationships, open doors to meaningful careers, and help create the teams that make our mission possible every day.”

For Caylee Flores, Talent Acquisition Partner for our Central and North Care Regions, covering such an expanse of the state can be a daunting task. Yet she always manages to fill openings in both regions through hard work and perseverance.

“I will go through Indeed and see if there are any resumes,” she said. “And I still do some cold calling, texting and emailing.”

Because of our expertise and legacy in Dayton and surrounding communities, Renee Marcum, Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist for our South Care Region, finding talented people is straightforward.

“Hospice of Dayton is very well known in the community. It’s word of mouth,” she said. “We just want to make sure that we hire people that are very compassionate and are able to support the mission. And I think we do a good job of doing that.”

Much of the work they do happens behind the scenes. But the impact is felt throughout our organization.

“Healthcare recruitment is both challenging and incredibly important,” Annette said. “Renee and Caylee approach this work with heart, helping Ohio’s Hospice navigate staffing challenges while ensuring we continue to provide exceptional care across the communities we serve. Today, we celebrate and thank Renee and Caylee for the care, commitment, and dedication they bring to their roles each day. Their efforts help strengthen our teams, support our mission, and ensure that more patients and families receive the compassionate care they deserve. We are deeply grateful for the difference they make and for the many lives they touch through their work.”
