Our Physicians
Ohio’s Hospice partners with an energetic, patient-focused medical team which represents the most extensive experience in hospice and palliative care in Ohio. Our innovative physicians serve as collaborators and consultants to hundreds of other physicians serving patients in our area. In addition, they provide medical expertise that personally addresses the needs of hospice patients.
Our doctors are board-certified specialists in hospice and palliative care, working as vital members of our interdisciplinary care teams to provide comfort, dignity and expert symptom management to patients facing life-limiting illnesses.
Almost all of our employed physicians and both of our contracted physicians are board certified in the subspecialty of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, according to Chief Medical Officer Dr. Lisa Maurer. All physicians are required to complete up to 150 hours of continuing medical education every three years with a recommended 30% of these credit hours related to the subspecialty.
Many of our physicians are either Fellows of the American Academy of Hospice & Palliative Medicine (AAHPM) or are pursuing this designation. Ohio’s Hospice generously provides membership in both UpToDate and the Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) for evidence-based learning day to day.
