Annual Troy Remembrance Walk Honors Loved Ones While Supporting Ohio’s Hospice Mission
Community raises nearly $16,000 for superior end-of-life care in Miami County
Ohio’s Hospice successfully hosted its 2025 Troy Remembrance Walk on June 7, 2025, bringing together 160 community members to honor and remember loved ones while raising nearly $16,000 to support local hospice care services.

The event, held at Ohio’s Hospice Troy, featured special tributes including a Veteran pinning ceremony performed by Penny Adams in honor of Peg Morelli, who served in the United States Army for six years. Morelli was stationed in Okinawa during the Vietnam War as a surgical technician, where she helped treat wounded Vietnam servicemen.
“We are deeply grateful to our community for their continued support of our mission to celebrate the lives of those we have the privilege of serving,” said a spokesperson for Ohio’s Hospice. “The funds raised at the Troy Remembrance Walk will directly support our ability to provide superior care and superior services to local patients and families during their end-of-life journey.”
Aaron Fraley of the Dayton Police Department opened the event with a moving performance of the National Anthem, setting a tone of remembrance and honor for the morning’s activities.
All funds raised will be allocated to serving local patients with superior end-of-life care, ensuring that Ohio’s Hospice Troy can continue providing compassionate, comprehensive hospice services wherever patients call home.
The event was made possible through the generous support of community sponsors, including:
- Presenting Sponsor: Premier Health at Upper Valley Medical Center
- Silver Sponsor: Bruns General Contracting
- Bronze Sponsors: The Messenger Press and Greenville National Bank
- Supporting Sponsor: McGohan Brabender
Event volunteers Louanne O’Neal and Mary Mullens played crucial roles in the event’s success, helping to coordinate activities and support participants throughout the morning.
Ohio’s Hospice plans to continue this meaningful community tradition with the next Troy Remembrance Walk scheduled for June 2026.
