Community Remembers Loved Ones During Hospice Walk
More than 500 community members gathered at Ohio’s Hospice in Dayton for the annual Remembrance Walk, a moving event that honored loved ones while raising $57,800 to support patient care in the communities we are privileged to serve.
The event featured 554 walkers who gathered to celebrate cherished their loved ones who have died and remember their influence on our lives.

Proceeds help ensure that Ohio’s Hospice can continue providing care to any eligible patient, regardless of insurance coverage or ability to pay. The funds raised through the event are allocated for serving our patients with superior end-of-life care.
The top fundraising team was Team Omie, while the top fundraising individual was Louisa Dreety.
Special guests included US Marine and Navy Veteran Jerry Hays. He was recognized with a special pin by volunteer Veteran George Loney.
The Kettering VFW presented the colors and Aaron Fraley sang the National Anthem. Teri Piatt with the Miami Valley Pipes & Drums lead the walkers playing bagpipes.
The event was made possible through the dedication of committee members Richard Miller, Don Fodor, Carl Nichols, Rita Anspach, Louisa Dreety and Jill Lewis, along with volunteers including Becky Schock, Steve Bitonti, Don Arnett, Andrea Kowaleski, Laura Lewis, Melissa Romer, Sydney Munch, Glenna Perkins, Leann Neal, Scott Anspach, Phil Dreety, Liv Baldasare, Sally Frost, Bonnie Hill, Rebecca Ingle, Maureen Scahill, Kurt Roth, Mei Lin, Debbie Goldberg, Patty Allen, Candis Conley, George Loney, Linda Pangborn, Ashley Faun, Sam Faun, Sara Monroe and various representative from Chaminade-Julienne High School.
Community sponsors demonstrated their commitment to supporting end-of-life care through their generous contributions: Huntington Bank, Calvary Cemetery, Collidge Wall, Winsupply, The Fodor Family, Millwright Industrial Services, David’s Cemetery, Fraternal Order of Eagles #4014, Precision Metal Fabrication, Economy Linen & Towel Service, Inc., Beyond Wealth Advisors (also provided snacks and bottled water), VFW Post #9582, USI Insurance Services, The Patterson – Community First Solutions, and ACCO Brands.
Other partners include Dayton LaSertoma, which provided walkers with fruit; Tweedles Mini Donuts, which fried fresh mini donuts to order for all walkers; Special Occasions Party Supplies, which provided the special touch of the balloon backdrop; and the Dayton Police Department, which safely guiding walkers along the route.
Ohio’s Hospice plans to continue this meaningful tradition with the next Dayton Remembrance Walk November 2026.
