Congratulations to Lori Poekling-Igel! 2022 Outstanding Fundraising Professional | Ohio's Hospice

Lori Poelking-Igel Recognized as Outstanding Fundraising Professional

Congratulations to Lori Poelking-Igel, president of the Ohio’s Hospice Foundation! She was honored on Nov. 15 at the Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Dayton Region National Philanthropy Day® as the Outstanding Fundraising Professional.

The annual Philanthropy Awards program recognizes outstanding achievements by individual, foundations and corporate philanthropists.

As a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) with nearly 20 years of development experience, Lori has led Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton and Ohio’s Hospice fundraising initiatives to create and sustain extraordinary community programs while enhancing the lives of the patients and families we have the privilege of serving.   Her philanthropic spirit was instilled at a young age. With the guide that her parents set forth through Poelking Bowling Centers in Dayton, she has continued to engage her time, talent and treasure with charitable organizations throughout the Miami Valley region.  As president of the Ohio’s Hospice Foundation, Lori is responsible for leading and managing all operational, administrative and fundraising aspects of the Foundation, which serves 58 counties throughout Ohio.

Lori chooses kindness first, always coming from a place of compassion with her colleagues, staff and donors. The donors that Lori has cultivated are often experiencing a great deal of hardship and are sometimes in a very vulnerable state. This is when Lori’s strong ethics are of utmost importance. She protects the wishes and confidentiality of our patients and their families, ensuring that no donor relationship is exploited during the grieving process. Lori handles patient families with grace and compassion.

Congratulations to Lori for being recognized as an Outstanding Fundraising Professional. Special thanks to her for her support of our mission!
