Matters of the Heart Grief Education Session for Local Clergy Set for August 14
Matters of the Heart is designed to empower clergy and lay leaders to support their communities. The series continues at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton this fall with a session on “Supporting Grievers of a Traumatic Loss” on Wednesday, August 14, 2019.
Most clergy have received a hard phone call sharing a sudden death, the death of a child or a death through unnatural means such as accident, suicide or homicide. There is little question that these deaths bring intense and prolonged grief reactions that can lead the comforter to feel helpless. This workshop will educate clergy on the normal grief process with an emphasis on the challenging grief responses to a traumatic loss.
The day will begin at 8:30 am with registration and breakfast followed by the presentation by Deb Holt, bereavement counseling professional at Ohio’s Hospice, from 9-11 am. The event will be in the Community Room at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio, 45420. Please enter from the visitor entrance.
Registration is required for this event. To register, visit https://ohioshospice.regfox.com/2019-august-matters-of-the-heart.
