National VFW Day: Honoring All Who Served
Sept. 29 is National Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Day, and Ohio’s Hospice is proud to honor those who have served their country with bravery and courage.

The VFW is the nation’s oldest combat veterans service organization, with a motto, “to honor the dead by helping the living.” This past year marked the 125th anniversary for the organization that is known for its advocacy on behalf of Veterans, including significant contributions to their health, education and benefits.
Ohio’s Hospice recognizes the importance of honoring the service of our nation’s Veterans. Through American Pride® Veteran Care by Ohio’s Hospice, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to Veteran patients and their families while celebrating their service and sacrifices.
We commemorate the lives of Veterans through participation in Veteran recognition ceremonies, coordination with Honor Flight, and special observances and celebrations.
Every Veteran patient is invited to participate in a meaningful ceremony during which they receive an American Pride pin presented by a fellow Veteran volunteer who understands the significance of their service.
The unique program is geared towards providing dignity and respect, along with specialized care to our Veterans who are facing life-limiting illness and are in need of end-of-life care. We have the honor and privilege of honoring hundreds of Veterans each year.
In addition to celebrating and thanking Veterans for their service, American Pride assists patients in obtaining access to all the benefits to which Veterans are eligible, provides spiritual support, and addresses individual post-traumatic stress issues.
To every Veteran, we say thank you for your service. It is our privilege to serve you with the same dedication you’ve shown in serving our country.
