Spiritual Care Week: Chaplains Make a Difference in the Lives of Our Patients and Families
At a time when comfort matters most, chaplains, part of our interdisciplinary care team at Ohio’s Hospice, are there to offer support, guidance and counseling. The support chaplains provide is inclusive of all religious faiths, traditions and backgrounds.
October 19-25 is Spiritual Care Week, a time to recognize our team of professionals who provide spiritual care and support for the patients and families we are privileged to serve.

For individuals who have a strong religious or faith background that is an important aspect of their life, our chaplains honor and encourage their faith, which can bring comfort to the patient and their family.
For others, religious traditions may not have held a central role in faith, but they may still have a strong sense of spirituality. Hospice chaplains can help patients reflect upon their beliefs and express their spirituality. Chaplains also support those who define themselves as agnostic or atheist, meeting them where they are with no judgment or agenda.
Chaplains’ spiritual care can give them comfort as they work through life reflection and end-of-life solace. Chaplains continue to serve families after the loss of a loved one, providing comfort, conducting funeral and memorial services, and honoring the lives of hospice patients.
We’re grateful to our chaplains for their support of our mission!
