Staff Milestone: Denise Hunter Celebrates 20 Years of Service with Ohio’s Hospice

Payroll Supervisor, Denise Hunter, came to Ohio’s Hospice in 2004 and has enjoyed being part of the organization’s exponential growth.
“We have gone through a lot of changes and have gone from 382 employees and one Federal ID to having 10 IDs and close to 2,000 employees.”
The mission is why Hunter has stayed with Ohio’s Hospice. “It has also been a personal experience for me. I had a sister and sister-in-law who both passed away at our units from cancer, and I lost my best buddy at our unit in Dayton on Sept. 1,” Hunter said.
The superior care and superior services that Ohio’s Hospice provides for its patients and families are crucial, which is why Hunter enjoys her job.
“I believe in this wholeheartedly,” she said. “I also have had some great leaders and managers that have been a part of my journey.”

As payroll supervisor, Hunter ensures clinical care teams can focus on what matters most – providing superior care to patients and families. Her dedication to accuracy and excellence reflects Ohio’s Hospice’s commitment to superior service at every level.
“I think it is funny when one of our teammates who are in the field say to me, ‘how do you keep track of all of us and get us all paid?’ but I tell them my job is easy, I pay them all to make sure they are all happy and can take care of our patients and families without worrying about their money!”
Hunter’s dedication to supporting Ohio’s Hospice’s mission exemplifies how every team member contributes to Celebrating Life’s Stories® through superior care and superior services.
Thank you, Denise, for your years of dedication to our mission.
