Staff Spotlight: Lori A. Poelking-Igel
Lori Igel is President of Ohio’s Hospice Foundation and a passionate advocate for the power of philanthropy to make a lasting difference.

With more than 20 years of experience in fundraising and nonprofit leadership, Lori helps connect donors’ personal values with opportunities to support patients, families, grief services, palliative care, and compassionate end-of-life care.
But for Lori, this work is more than a career — it’s personal.
Her family experienced hospice care first-hand when her uncle, Joe Poelking, was cared for by Hospice of Dayton in 1997. After his passing, Lori’s family organized bowling fundraisers in his memory that ultimately raised more than $1 million to support hospice care. That experience helped shape Lori’s lifelong commitment to ensuring compassionate care is here for generations to come.
Lori is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and was named the AFP Greater Dayton Region Fundraiser of the Year in 2022.
Outside of work, Lori enjoys painting, spending time at the beach, and gathering with family and friends. Her favorite place to paint? By the ocean, which is her happy place!
We’re grateful for Lori’s leadership, heart and dedication to creating meaningful legacies through philanthropy.
Thank you, Lori, for helping make a difference every day!
