Sunflower Accolades to Melissa Gentry
Outstanding members of the Ohio’s Hospice staff are recognized every quarter with the Bouquet of Recognition Awards for going above and beyond in advocating for and serving patients. Melissa Gentry of Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton is the recipient of the most recent Sunflower Award, presented to state tested nursing assistants who provide care for our hospice patients.
“Melissa is a very caring and compassionate aide to my mom,” writes the daughter of a hospice patient. “I can hear her each time she visits talking to my mother in a loving way. Melissa thoroughly baths my mother from head to feet. I never have to ask her to wash her hair or cut her nails.”
In addition to her compassionate care and attention to details, the nomination noted that Melissa is obviously passionate about her work. “Melissa clearly loves her job and this is the kind of caregiver hospice patients need! Melissa is a great example of hospice care.”
