3k/5k Remembrance Walk

Annual Remembrance Walk to Benefit Patient Care and Services at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton

Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton will hold its 2019 Annual 3k/5k Remembrance Walk on Saturday, Oct. 26, at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton (324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45420). Registration begins at 8:30 am, with the walk beginning at 10 am.

Participants are invited to organize a group of family members, friends, neighbors or co-workers to walk in honor or memory of a loved one and support the mission of Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton, a not-for-profit, community-based hospice that has been serving patients and their families for more than 40 years in their homes, extended care and assisted living facilities, and the Hospice House location in Dayton.

Awards will be presented to the team and individual who raise the most money for Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton. Food trucks also will be on-site before and after the walk.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton patient care and services. Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton serves more than 800 patients and families daily, achieving national recognition for innovative services and outstanding care. Grief support services also are available to the entire community through the Pathways of Hope grief support center.

The cost for individual participants is $25. Teams of five or more will cost $20 per person. The cost for youth walkers, ages 12 and under, is $10. For active military or Veterans, the cost is $20 per person.

The walk will start at the Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton campus, proceed through the neighborhood and come back. The course is wheelchair and stroller accessible. For the safety of all participants, no roller blades, bicycles or unleashed pets will be allowed. Parking is available off-site at various locations with shuttle buses.

This year’s sponsors include Calvary Cemetery, Exhibit Concepts, Netsmart, Dodd’s Memorials, Champion Apparel & Promotions, David’s Cemetery, Edith M. Corbin, Harlamert-Peck Family, Kettering Health Network, McGohan & Brabender and Metlife.
