Butterfly Release - Reserve Your Kit - August 30, 2020 - Ohio's Hospice of Miami County

Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County to Hold a DIY Memorial Butterfly Release Event on Aug. 30

Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County will hold its first ever do-it-yourself memorial butterfly release event. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s event will be a bit different from past years. On Sunday, Aug. 30, registered guests can pick up their butterfly release kit in the parking lot of its office (550 Summit Ave., Troy, OH 45373).

To participate in the memorial butterfly release, participants need to place an order for the butterfly release kit by registering online at HospiceofMiamiCounty.org/Butterfly2020. The registration fee is $15 per butterfly. When participants register, they need to select a time to pick up the butterfly release kit on Aug. 30 at the Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County parking lot. Pick up times are 10-11:30 am, noon-1:30 pm, 2-3:30 pm, and 4-5:30 pm.

The butterfly release kit includes a live butterfly for participants to release on their own in memory or in honor of their loved ones. The kits will include ideas and tips on how to make the butterfly release special.

“The memorial butterfly release is a way to remember and honor special people who have touched our lives and live on in our memories,” said Carey Short, executive director of Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County. “We encourage those who have lost a loved one to participate in our butterfly release event.”

The deadline to place an order for a butterfly release kit is noon on Thursday, Aug. 27. For more information, call Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County at 937.335.5191.

Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County, an affiliate of Ohio’s Hospice, has been serving patients in Miami County since 1983.
