
Hospice of Central Ohio Honors Volunteers
Ohio’s Hospice affiliate Hospice of Central Ohio celebrated and thanked volunteers for their service at their annual awards ceremony. Long-term and new volunteers were recognized for their contributions.
Molly Kurtz of Newark received the Rookie of the Year Award for active first-year volunteers. Angie Chickowski of Newark received the Center of Card Award for being active in direct patient or family care.
Zane Watchtel of Newark was named the Kathleen M. Brown Leadership Award winner for demonstrating strong leadership abilities, multiple levels of involvement and a positive impact on the organization’s mission. Marilyn Dresser of Granville received the Selma Markowitz Lifetime Achievement Award for multiple years of service featuring positive impact on the organization’s growth and mission and strong commitment service over time.
Hospice of Central Ohio has provided a holistic, community-based approach to hospice care for over 30 years. Hospice of Central Ohio is a not-for-profit organization serving 9 counties in Central Ohio and is dedicated to supporting the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and families dealing with life-limiting conditions. The Selma Markowitz Inpatient Center is located on the 6th floor of Licking Memorial Hospital. The organization is an affiliate of Ohio’s Hospice, a partnership of mission-driven, non-profit hospices in Ohio committed to a shared vision of strengthening and preserving community based hospices.
