No Place Like ‘Gnome for the Holidays’
A big fan of gnomes, Angie Clark knew she found the perfect Christmas tree while attending the Warther’s Christmas Tree Festival in Dover.
The beloved festival, hosted by the Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital Auxiliary for more than 30 years, features decorated trees that are donated, along with other items for sale as a fundraiser.

Angie, an RN Team Care Team Navigator in Ohio’s Hospice’s North Care Region, attended with her husband, Bob, and saw a tree aptly named “Gnome for the Holidays.”
At first, they kept walking to see the rest of the trees but something – perhaps destiny or divine intervention – brought her back to the gnomes.
“As we walked back through, we passed that gnome tree and I stopped, thinking, ‘I really like this tree but do I want to spend the money.’”
Bob saw the sign listing the tree’s name, who it’s sponsored by and decorated by, and pointed to the sponsor.
It was serendipity.
“[The sign] said Ohio’s Hospice,” Angie said. “And I said, ‘This is my tree!’ Most of the trees had already sold, but not this one and I knew that the Lord had saved it for me to have.”
Before becoming part of Ohio’s Hospice, Community Hospice in Tuscawaras County participated annually in the tree event, and that meaningful tradition continues.
Completing this full-circle moment: The tree was decorated by the talented team at Friendtique, a non-profit thrift and antique store that benefits Ohio’s Hospice.
Ohio’s Hospice is grateful for support from the communities in which we serve.
