Virtual 5k Walk/Run

Virtual 2020 Annual 5k Remembrance Walk/Run to Benefit Patients and Families of Ohio’s Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties

Ohio’s Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties is holding its annual 5k Remembrance Walk/Run as a virtual event through Saturday, Oct. 10. Proceeds from the event support the mission of Ohio’s Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties, a not-for-profit, community-based hospice serving patients in their homes, extended care and assisted living facilities, and Lorelei’s Place in Franklin.

“Our mission is to celebrate the lives of those we have the privilege of serving by providing superior care and superior services to each patient and family,” said Sydney Truax, event organizer. “Through community support, we are able to provide superior care and superior services to anyone in the community facing life-limiting illnesses, regardless of ability to pay.”

Through proceeds raised from the event, Ohio’s Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties also is able to provide grief support at no cost to anyone in the community; provide complementary services such as respiratory care, massage, music and art therapy; and provide palliative care to patients whose chronic disease compromises their quality of live.

T-shirts will be available for pickup on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 8:30 am to 1 pm, at Lorelei’s Place (5940 Long Meadow Dr., Franklin, OH 45005). Memory walk signs also will be displayed along the drive for viewing purposes.

This year’s presenting sponsors are Greg and Patti Atkinson. The partner sponsors are AK Steel and Kettering Health Network. Friend sponsors include LCNB National Bank, VFW Auxiliary Post 6069 and Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home.

For more information about registering, visit the website at https://www.hospiceofbwco.org/bwwalk2020 or contact Truax at 937.256.9507, ext. 2885.

Ohio’s Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties, an affiliate of Ohio’s Hospice, honors the lives of patients by preserving quality of life and respecting patient wishes. A not-for-profit organization, Ohio’s Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties provides a comprehensive range of care in every setting — homes, extended care or assisted living facilities, hospitals, and Lorelei’s Place Hospice House, a free-standing hospice care center with 12 inpatient beds providing short-term patient care when needed for patient comfort and symptom management.
