Light Up a Life

Hospice of Central Ohio Invites Community to Support Light Up a Life Virtually

Hospice of Central Ohio is inviting members of the community to join in supporting its mission by making a donation and memorializing a loved one through its Light Up a Life annual fund campaign.

For the past 30 years, community members have supported the Hospice of Central Ohio Light Up a Life annual fund campaign with generous donations and white dove ornaments inscribed with a name and placed on a display of trees. This year’s Light Up a Life will be done virtually, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With each gift, donors are supporting a patient and honoring a loved one. They can view the tree being lit up online with each donation.  The online event will begin Nov. 16 and will conclude on Dec. 31.

“We’re grateful to the community for its support of Light Up a Life. At Hospice of Central Ohio, our mission is to celebrate the lives of those we have the privilege of serving by providing superior care and superior services to each patient and family,” said Stacy Geller, vice president of philanthropic development at Hospice of Central Ohio. “As a not-for-profit hospice, we rely on the support and generosity of individuals and corporations to assure that quality, compassionate care is available to patients and families, regardless of their ability to pay.”

Through charitable gifts, Hospice of Central Ohio is able to offer services that provide comfort, dignity and meaning to patients and families facing end-of-life illnesses.

Hospice of Central Ohio, an affiliate of Ohio’s Hospice, has provided a holistic, community-based approach to hospice care since 1982. With locations in Newark, Columbus, Lancaster and Zanesville, the not-for-profit organization serves nine counties in central Ohio and is dedicated to supporting the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and families facing life-limiting illnesses. In addition, two inpatient care centers at Licking Memorial Hospital and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center are available for symptom management.
