You’re Not Alone: Free Grief Camp Helps Children and Teens Navigate Loss
When young people lose someone they love, the journey through grief can feel overwhelming and isolating. The You’re Not Alone Grief Camp creates a caring community where children and teens ages 7-17 can share their experiences, express their feelings, and find comfort in knowing they aren’t facing loss by themselves.

Set in the peaceful surroundings of Wanake Camp & Retreat Center (9463 Manchester Ave. SW, Beach City, OH 44608), this three-day experience runs July 8-10, 2025, from 8 am-4:30 pm daily. Here, young campers find a balance of fun activities and gentle emotional support guided by compassionate grief counselors and trained volunteers from our Pathways of Hope℠ team.
Children and teens build connections through swimming, hiking, rock wall climbing, music therapy, and arts and crafts while learning healthy ways to express grief. Special grief support sessions and a meaningful memorial program provide opportunities for healing and remembrance in an age-appropriate setting.
The camp welcomes all children and teens who have experienced loss, creating a space where they can be themselves, ask questions, and discover they’re not alone on their grief journey.
Thanks to generous community support, this camp is offered at no cost to families.
